Report on 27th Maha Nava Chandi Homam at Thiruvallur
The 27th Maha Nava Chandi Yagna was conducted during the auspicious vasantha navarathri. The yagna was conducted as per the traditional procedure followed by the Guru parampara. Sri Lakshmi Ji did a sankalpa or vow for welfare of all devotees. The sacred fire was obtained through Agni Mathanam or churning of the peepul wood.
Chandi Navavarna puja was performed to the yantra of Goddess Chandika Parameshwari and oblations were also offered in the Agni. The main homam was performed with the chanting of the Durga Saptashati.
Suvasini Puja, Kanya Puja and Vaduka Bhairava Puja were performed as a part of the yagna. It is customary to invoke the blessings of Lord Bhairava, who is the consort of the Ambaal. The presence of the deity is invoked in women, the child and the bramhachari , signifying the divinity within one and all.
Maha Poornahuti and vasodhara homam were performed with the chanting of the vedic Rudram chamakam. Lakshmi Ji distributed the theertha Prasad to all devotees and it was followed by a special Annadanam.
